Apr. 27th, 2009

After being sick with a cold most of the past week, I finally got back to the gym tonight and rode over 5 miles on a bike. It felt good to get the body moving again. I also did some weights, mostly arm stuff, and I plan to go back for more tomorrow.

Hope everyone is doing good!

Triathlon Update

As of last night here are my totals.

The triathlon consists of:
Swimming ~ 5 miles / 8 kilometres
Walk/Run ~ 20 miles / 32.2 kilometres
Bike ~ 30 miles / 48.3 kilometres

Remaining:
Swimming ~ 5 miles
Walk/Run ~ 14.30 miles
Bike ~ 6.5 miles

The bike distance won't be a problem to finish, I'll have that donen tomorrow. Now I need to work on the walk/run. As for the swimming, my gym is now doing some sort of maintenance and repair to it, so that part of the triathlon won't be completed for anyone. I'm not sure what they will do for the people in the triathlon, maybe extend the swimming deadline when the pool is fixed or something. They'll let everyone know as soon as they figure it out.

I hope you are all doing well with your walking!
More walking and biking was done today after work. I am so sore from yesterday's workout, but it really felt great to get moving.

The triathlon consists of:
Swimming ~ 5 miles / 8 kilometres
Walk/Run ~ 20 miles / 32.2 kilometres
Bike ~ 30 miles / 48.3 kilometres

Remaining:
Swimming ~ 5 miles
Walk/Run ~ 15.80 miles
Bike ~ 18.5 miles

I'll be at the gym again tomorrow. I'm having fun with this challenge. :-)

Triathlon update

I managed to get on a treadmill tonight after my hour of weights with the trainer, so I did just over 2 miles. Saturday morning I managed to get 5.50 miles done on a bike in 30 minutes. Here's where I'm at.

The triathlon consists of:
Swimming ~ 5 miles / 8 kilometres
Walk/Run ~ 20 miles / 32.2 kilometres
Bike ~ 30 miles / 48.3 kilometres

Remaining:
Swimming ~ 5 miles
Walk/Run ~ 17.40 miles
Bike ~ 20.5 miles

I really need to start on the swimming part. I'm a terrible swimmer so it makes me nervous, and I know it's going to take me awhile I just need to get a copy of the pool schedule and get started.

Hope everyone is having a good Monday!

Hubby suggested that I walk in the pool. I walked 600 metres in the water today.

Day 4 for me

I had a great time at the gym tonight, words I really never thought I'd hear myself say. I'm so excited about the sessions I'm doing with the trainer, learning how to use the weight machines. I'm having more fun this time for some reason.

In addition to the hour of weights I did, I managed to get in 4 miles on the bike! Now I feel like I've officially began the triathlon. To track my progress I'm rudely going to steal aussieteddie 's chart she made.  :-P

The triathlon consists of:
Swimming ~ 5 miles / 8 kilometres
Walk/Run ~ 20 miles / 32.2 kilometres
Bike ~ 30 miles / 48.3 kilometres

Remaining:
Swimming ~ 5 miles
Walk/Run ~ 19.50 miles
Bike ~ 26 miles

I got in half a mile on the treadmill before my session with the trainer on Monday, so there we have my stats as of this evening.

I am so excited about this challenge. I'll bore those of you on my f-list and say again how much I like having a set distance to reach, it makes me feel like I'm accomplishing something.

Keep up the great work everyone, be sure to let us know how you're doing!
